With solemn reverence for God's will, we announce the Funeral Service for our beloved and devoted founder of the Historic Hampton House, Dr. Enid C. Pinkney.

Family and friends of Dr. Pinkney are respectfully invited to attend her Celebration of Life at 10am on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at Bethel Apostolic Temple, 1855 NW 119th St, Miami, FL 33167. The arrangements for Dr. Pinkney are being handled by Range Funeral Home in Miami, Florida.

Viewing Services – Friday, August 9, 2024 - 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM

Dr. Enid Curtis Pinkney will lie in repose at Bethel Apostolic Temple from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM. All are welcome to pay their respects during this time. Dr. Pinkney’s family will be present from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, and services will conclude with the Omega Rho Ceremony from 6:00 to 7:00 PM.

Homegoing Service – Saturday, August 10, 2024 - 10:00 AM

Dr. Enid Curtis Pinkney’s services will be held at Bethel Apostolic Temple at 10:00 AM. To celebrate Dr. Pinkney, you are welcome to wear your best royal blue, gold, Bahamian blue, and black.

FROM BEBOP TO HIP HOP…

Steeped in rich musical history, the Historic Hampton House affirms its legacy by hosting a concert series entitled From Bebop to Hip HopLive at the Historic Hampton House. On the tails of artists such as Duke Ellington, Nat King Cole, Sarah Vaughan, Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye among many others who performed at the Historic Hampton House, today a new tradition is born. From Bebop to HipHop is an evolution of this spirit, hosting Grammy-level recording artists in a magical supper club under the stars.

Welcome to the Historic Hampton House Museum of Culture & Art. Located in Miami-Dade County's Brownsville neighborhood (just 10 minutes from Miami Beach), the onetime hotel is one of the few remaining Green Book sites of the Jim Crow era. The Historic Hampton House served as a nucleus gathering spot during the civil rights era of 1950’s, 60s, and 70s for influential figures such as Sam Cooke, Sammy Davis, Jr, Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Muhammad Ali, Jackie Wilson, Althea Gibson, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Malcolm X, Jackie Robinson and Jim Brown. The museum showcases a valuable piece of Miami’s segregated history and is the only standing hotel of this era.
